Louis Vuitton was on fire for resort, playing with the notions of heat and shine. Sinewy separates in warming tones of cream and brown pleasantly melded with pops of blue and pink on dresses and jackets. Returning in less exaggerated forms from fall were oversize buttons and bell skirts, all of which paid homage to the film “Indochine” with Catherine Deneuve. The film, set in the the French colonial era of the 1930s to 1950s, inspired the tribal yet grand nature of the collection, which featured cutoff trousers, romantic lace blouses and waistcoats, some embellished for extra sizzle. Here, a visor secured with a silk tie rises to the occasion of a single-sleeve sequin and lace dress.
